At Greenliness.com, we strive to have a lighter touch on the earth with the products we sell, and one of the ways we do that is by offering products made with recycled plastic bottles.
The Container Recycling Institute states that 60 Million plastic bottles are thrown away each day! This is a valuable resource that ends up in landfills or pollutes the oceans if it is not reused or recycled.
One company that turns bottles into fabric is EcoFi. Their product called Eco-fi®, "is a high-quality polyester fiber made from 100% certified recycled plastic PET bottles. It can go into any textile product such as clothing, blankets, carpets, wall coverings, auto interiors, home furnishings, and craft felt. Eco-fi can also be blended with other fibers, such as cotton or wool, for enhanced qualities. 12 bottles = 1 pound of fiber."
You can do a search for Eco-Fi on our website to see the products that use this material, which includes this Macbook laptop case.
All the swimwear on the Greenliness site use recycled plastic bottles as their main source material. Items such as the swimwear pictured here, the "Big Sur Blue One Peace" and the "ReCarnation High Waist Bikini." Both are from Together California.
Beyond clothing, recycled plastic bottles can be made into many household items. We especially like planters made this way, and we have some very attractive wall-hanging planters from Delectable Garden including this 12 Pocket Indoor Waterproof Vertical Living Wall Planter.
The number of products that can be made from recycled plastic bottles is unlimited, and we'll be constantly on the lookout for new products to add to the store.
Thank you for shopping for products that use recyclable materials.
